Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet near Plaza de España and set out on a tour of Santo Domingo that will take us to explore the area outside the city walls of the Dominican capital. Ready? Let's go!
To begin, we'll make our way northwards, skirting the walled city of Santo Domingo to recount the history of slavery in the country. For this, we'll visit the area known as La Negrera, where the slaves entered, to be sold and distributed.
Afterwards, we'll walk around the neighbourhood of Santa Bárbara, full of graffiti and historic monuments, such as the Castrense Cathedral. We'll admire its charming façade before continuing the tour towards the Santa Bárbara Fort. At this location, we'll have some incredible views of the city. Photo moment!
The next stop on this tour will be Chinatown. We'll learn all of the interesting facts about the Chinese community that lives in Santo Domingo while we stroll around its streets full of stalls with local products.
Lastly, we'll continue the tour until we reach Santo Domingo Promenade, where we'll see the male and female obelisks.
Finally, we'll bring this tour to an end at a central point in Santo Domingo after 2 hours together.
